How has your summer been so far? Despite the rainy days here in the UK there has been some sunshine here and there, which helps to lift the mood and of course synthesize some vitamin D. And suddenly we’re into August already … how did that happen? Well, time flies by when you’re the author of a blog, or something like that…
So while time’s moving so quick, we thought it would be a good idea to let you know about Blue September well in advance of it. The aim of the event is to raise awareness about various types of cancer that can affect men, with the slogan “Facing up to cancer in men”. Every Friday during September is Blue Friday, with people encouraged to hold fundraising events involving the colour blue, such as painting your face blue, wearing something blue – or doing something else that’s creative and fun as long as it’s got the blue theme.
Blue September’s beneficiary is The Urology Foundation, a UK charity who work to improve diagnosis, treatment and management of prostate, bladder and kidney cancers and other diseases. You can find out more about their work here.
So will you be going Blue this September? Let us know in the comments – we’d love to hear from you.
